NO HONEYMOON is a docufiction that follows us, artists Anyuta and Kim as we travel to Seoul while preparing for our divorce. Before officially separating, we undertake one final trip together. Where a honeymoon traditionally marks the beginning of a shared future, NO HONEYMOON  takes place at the moment that our shared future is coming to an end. The film focuses on what remains when a relationship changes form.

The project builds on BETWEEN US, a ten-year artistic practice in which our marriage functioned as both a legal arrangement, a lived relationship, and an artistic framework. In 2018, although we were not romantically involved, we married at Ghent City Hall to secure a residence permit for Anyuta and to create a shared life. Through performances, publications, conversations, installations, and visual work, the project explored how intimacy is shaped by legal systems, administrative procedures, and social expectations. In October 2022, Anyuta became a Belgian citizen. From that point on, the relationship gradually began to shift .

In Seoul, the film looks at how personal and political structures of separation and coexistence overlap. The country, shaped by a history of division and geopolitical tension, becomes a setting to reflect on shared space. The film moves between encounters with people, the practice of kendo, and everyday travel situations and saying goodbye.
