Bounded Authenticity is a term used, for what is called in prostitution; The Girlfriend Experience.
A GFE-prostitute doesn't only provide her clients with their sexual needs but gives them an intimacy equal to love. They are -during the paid activity- a true lover.
Between 2014 and 2016, I worked as an escorte and provided the service 'Girlfriend experience'.
During this time as a prostitute, my research mainly focussed on how to stage 'the perfect prostitute' and dealt with the question: 'Is love really for sale?
Starting this road with somewhat biased opinions, but transforming towards a more nuanced perspective on intersubjectivity and the concept of expectation, I slowly discovered and carefully explored the multi-layered dynamic between client, prostitute, love and money. Starting from te value of aberrant love through an approach of empathy.

Bounded Authenticity, in de context van prostitutie betekent het verlenen van liefde en romantische intimiteit naast de gewone service, gedurende de betaalde tijd.
Tot twee jaar geleden werkte ik als escorte en verleende ik de dienst 'Girlfriend Experience'. Gedurende deze tijd focuste mijn onderzoek zich voornamelijk rond de vraag wat de perfecte prostitué is en of liefde ook te koop is. Dit proces startte met vooringenomen opvattingen rond prostitutie die zich genuanceerder ontwikkelden doorheen deze dynamische multi-gelaagde ontmoetingen - gedetermineerd door verwachtingen, conceptualisatie van liefde en intimiteit en door middel van de specifieke invulling van het economisch aspect van tijd en ruimte.
Dit alles benaderd vanuit het gegeven van intersubjectiviteit en empathie
